Rehabilitating Street Children Program,, New Delhi🇮🇳.

 Estimates with WCD department suggest that Delhi on any given day has 60,000 to 70,000 children surviving in street like situation.


Street kids split into three groups

★ Those who have run away from their families and live alone on the streets.

★ Those who spend most of their time on the streets fending for themselves but return home regularly.

★ Children live on the streets with their families.



Rescue ---- To increase the network of agencies and officials working on rescusing such vulnerable children the policy aims to set up a district child protection convergence committee in each revenue district in Delhi.


Identification -- The policy asset vulnerability parameters to identify such children as well including. Conditions related to safety and security. Education Status, state of hunger and malnutrition, Mental health condition and risk related to child trafficking.

Between January and may 2021 more than 2,383 complaints of Domestic violence were filed with the National commission for women. Domestic Violence is abuse by one partner against another in an intimate relationship such as marriage ,family relationship etc.. It can be physical ,emotion ,economic and sexual abuse. It is a violation of fundamental right to live with dignity and of right to equality and equal protection of law guaranteed under Indian Constitution and demand proper legal action.
