Light exerts a significant influence on the vital physiological processes going on in the plants and their forms and structure. Effects of light on physiological process-- the process of photosynthesis growth development transpiration and a number of metabolic process of profoundly influenced by light. Chlorophyll and photosynthesis-- chlorophyll developed from the proto chlorophyll when the latter is exposed to light. Light intensity plays a key role in influencing photosynthesis. Transpiration--- light influences rate of transpiration light is absorbed by a leaf raising its temperature and thus increasing transpiration and water loss. Light also plays a significant role in opening and closing of stomata.
